Each of the Directors of The Black Swan Group have the responsibility of ensuring the Group works together to achieve the company goals and maintains its values and beliefs. Our Group is founded on the principles of standing out from the crowd changing the perception of normality and being the "Black Swan".
In May 2010 Richard Aldridge, Shane Ferguson and Ben Hudson launched The Black Swan Group with the aim of differentiating themselves from the competition through three guiding principles:

The three Managing Directors have extensive experience in their specialist areas. They are:
Richard Aldridge – Moved from South Africa to the UK in 1998 and completed a gap year coaching rowing at Shrewsbury school before graduating from Durham University, reading Natural Sciences in 2001. After entering the city in 2001 he later joined one of the World's leading recruitment firms in September 2004 and was promoted to manager the following year. He led 4 other staff in specializing in compliance recruitment. Throughout his six years with the firm Richard was one of the Global top billers and managed a team who regularly placed within the compliance space. The team covered everything from entry level roles, through to Global Heads of Compliance and also enjoyed large success in various full scale remediation projects on the KYC piece. Richard specializes in compliance across Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Investment Management, Hedge Funds, Exchanges and MTF's, Insurance and regulators. At The Black Swan Group, Richard is the Director in charge of corporate governance, finance and change management recruitment and has four successful teams in this space.
Shane graduated in 2003 having read Business and Economics and joined the graduate scheme of a top tier recruitment firm. After 1 year of rotational training across different teams within financial services, he moved onto the investment management team recruiting back, middle and front office support positions. In his second year with the company he set up the Hedge Fund team and grew it to become one of the most successful teams in the company, taking the accolade of highest global billing consultant globally in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Shane Ferguson is well known throughout the Hedge Fund world and provides business advisory services as well as recruitment services. At The Black Swan Group, Shane is the Director in charge of all front, middle and back office recruitment in the buy side and the middle and back office recruitment throughout the sell side.
Ben graduated in 2005 from the University of Southampton having read Geography. He was the University of Southampton's student union president during his time, taking a lead on the welfare and rights of 22,000 students and managing a multi-million pound budget, the student sporting teams and facilities and the entertainment facilities that the university provides. Ben was tasked with initiating a compliance recruitment desk and progressed within one year to manage four staff as he grew this team and then further staff when he was charged with re-launching their risk function. Ben was continually a top biller in the company and always managed further staff. At The Black Swan Group, Ben is the Director in charge of the leading the strategy, vision and operational best practice for the business, managing the support functions and operations of The Black Swan Group as a business, while still placing candidates within the compliance and risk space.
